We are running several printers with UPD 5.8.17508 PCL 6 in our Citrix XenApp 6 (windows server 2008 R2) farm
When connecting to a shared printer using UPD 5.8.17508 a massive amount of CPU is used on the Citrix server. This is a huge issue for us during morning logins to our Citrix Farm where several hundred people connect to these UPD printers. The process using the CPU is windows installer msiexec.exe. HP printers running non-UPD drivers do not cause any problems. But we have several newer models (LaserJet Enterprise M525 mfp for instance) which has no supported normal driver.
Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this or must we exchange our HP's for a different brand?
