I have an HP Pavilion Desktop, Windows 8, 64-bit computer. I have been trying without success to download the newest driver for my HP Photosmart C6280. It gets to the point where you re-connect the machine to the computer with the USB cable to finish the setup; it says "device detected" and it seems to be doing it's thing; then it says "device setup has failed to complete". I have tried totally uninstalling the printer. I have tried re-installing the printer. I have tried different USB ports. I have tried different printer cables. Nothing gets the setup to complete. Even when I have the computer do the setup for a "new printer" It comes up with the little yellow triangle warning sign (on the scanner icon) that tells you "setup incomplete"; printer says it is "offline". This is the "installation error log" wording I got last time I tried:
LaunchApp(X:\hpqtra08.exe -shutDown,1,00000000,00000000)
failed with 2
Error opening key
