black streaks when printing

when I scan to a memory drive or copy through the tray a couple black straks appear.  This does not happen when I copy placing the original on the screen.

Using the memory drive, I scan the original and then when I insert the memory drive in my laptop and pull it up, the black straks appear in the document.

I am using an HP Office Jet 8500A
