I have an Officejet 6600, which I turn off when not in use. There is a toolbox setting that indicates under 'Show Alerts':
- Show me ink alerts right away
- Only show me ink alerts when I print
I have checked the 2nd choice a hundred times, but each time I turn my pc on, I get a constant hourglass indicating a process is trying to run. I go back to the toolbox, and it has changed my setting back to 'Show me ink alerts right away'. Because the printer isn't on, it can't accomplish this, so I get the hourglass. VERY ANNOYING and intrusive. HPs are known for these obnoxious kinds of issues, the first time I had the problem I thought I had a virus on my PC.
I doubt there is a solution for this, the only one I can think of is to trash the software and/or the printer and never purchase another HP printer.
Anyone out there have a better solution?
Thanks
