Printer Driver Files

I bought a HP 4620 All in One Printer and the first time I tried to use it, the paper jammed.  I had put about 30 sheets in the tray.  After getting the jammed paper out I put about five sheets in it.  It still jammed so I took it back to the store I purchased it from and replaced it with another brand.  I uninstalled the printer (windows7) from the 'Device & Printers' section of Windows, went into the "programs" section and uninstalled the printer, however, hidden somewhere either in the registry or elsewhere on my computer is an executable file that keeps trying to install the printer driver.  That file is stopping my computer from going into the 'sleep' mode.  I suggest that HP stop trying to mess up their customers that just happens to not approve of a piece of equipment that is defective and changes to another brand of like equipment.  Someone please tell me where that file is because I can look in the 'Events' fold and see that it is trying to install the driver. Shame on Hewlett-Packard!
