Windows 10 Servicing 1709,1809 to 1903 (Missing Drivers) HP models

Hi Guys,

Hope you all are doing well,

 I had created a windows 10 servicing plan for 1709,1809 to 1903 (SCCM)

After  creating the service plan the machines got the update for 1903, but there was a weird behaviour which I found , the machines with made model for HP missed 1 or 2 drivers (Drive guard and  wireless button) after the feature update, on the other hand the machine with  Lenovo made  got the update seamlessly.

The machines with version windows 10 v1709 & v1809 are imaged with the task sequence before adding the machine to the servicing plan.

your quick suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Hipaa and security concerns

Hello everyone, 

  I have been tasked with looking into my companies printers for hipaa and security issues. Currently we have over 1300 hp printers online with a very wide range of models and age. We are wanting to replace the devices in lots of 400. I would like to see if there is a list of devices that no longer meet hipaa and or have security risk due to outdated firmware that is no longer supported. 

Any info to point me in the right direction would be great.

Cannot connect HP 5540 to internet

I cannot connect my printer to my laptop wirelessly. 

It works perfectly with a USB but then the program recommends connecting wirelessly and it doesn't work. 

I made sure that both my printer and laptop are on the same network. 

I've done every step on https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05032099.

The HP Smart app for Windows gives me "offline" even though the printer is connected to wifi.

When I send an email to the ****@hpeprint.com, it prints it fine since IT"S CONNECTED!!!! 

I've been wrestling with this for 2 days and I'm so frustrated. 

The first picture is from HP Smart windows app. 

The 2nd picture is from "Device" page where the laptop cannot find the printer. 

The 3rd and 4th pictures are from the EN5540_Full_WebPack_1119 program. 

 

I initially installed using USB. Then It recommended wifi connection, and part of that is removing the printer from the 'Device' setting on the window and looking for the "Wifi version" and re-connecting it. As you can see from the 2nd picture, it cannot find it. 

Also, as you can see from the 3rd picture, the EN5540_Full_WebPack_1119 program can "Find" the printer initially, but then it will spin forever and give me the 4th picture. 

 

The HP Print and Scan Doctor also could not solve the problem.

error.PNGSo this is what it shows everytime I try installing the software.

 

 O.s.:- Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)

Computer type :- Non-Hp

 

My printer would print properly before. But since after formatting the drive and getting 32-bit windows 7 upgraded to 64-bit windows 7, the software just isn't ready to install.

 

                                                                                                        Also after plugging the printer's cable to the computer, it says "device driver not installed"

file in queue is not removable

Hello, I have a problem with the printer HP Deskjet 1510 because a file that is not removable remains in queue so that I can't print anything else. Moreover, even if I switch off the PC and I switch it on that file remains in printing queue and the printer prints it again. It is a pdf file with data type  RAW, so is written in the Properties clicking on the right button of the mouse on the file in printing queue. It's about two pages but only one is always printed.

Duplex keeps uninstalling

I bought this Officejet Pro 251dw when I had Windows7 and Windows8.  It works perfectly on both operating system.  I recently upgraded to new computers with Windows 10.  I made sure to download the latest printer driver from the HP site.  The driver works, but the Duplex setting keeps changing from "installed" to "not installed".  I can set it back to installed, it may last a day or it may last 2 weeks, but it keeps changing back to not installed.  It acts the same on both Windows 10 computers.

What can I do to prevent the Duplex setting from changing after I set it to installed???

HP Offcejet Pro 6970 can't be installed on Win 7 64.

When I try to install my HP Officejet Pro 6970 on a Windows (7-64), I get the following message:
Call to DriverPackageInstall returned error 1627 for the 'c: \ Program Files \ HP \ HP Officejet Pro 6970 \ DriverStore \ Yeti \ hpygid20.inf' package.

What could be happening here? Can anybody help me?

printer failure message

My HP officejet pro 8600 plus shows a printer failure message on the print screen with no error message number.  All recommended resolutions (besides cleaning the print cartrige heads which I've already done) on HP's web site involve getting to items on the printer screen but I can get only the error message on the printer screen.  how can I resolve this?

I'm having a problem on a Pro 6970 All-in-One printer. Brand new, right out of the box. Hadn't been using it for more than a week when I started receiving this error every time the printer is idle for more than a few minutes. When I try to turn it off, it says it's shutting down... But then nothing happens. Please help!

twenty seconds timeout in UPD driver because of port 3910

Hello,

 

I have a windows print server which serves the same UPD driver to all HP printers.

 

The older cm6030f are printing fast, the newer e87640 have a timeout of twenty seconds,

before the printjob is send to the print server.

 

The Timeout:

 

If I click in notepad,word or in acrobad on "print" the GUI hangs. Word is writing "Word not responding"

and writing "Word is preparing a background print job". After ~20 seconds the job is send.

 

The Analysis:

 

I have analysed it with procman.exe. The trace shows that the UPD driver on the client is

connectings "e87640.printers.mynet.de" on port 3910.

This blocks for 20 seconds, after 20 second procman "continues" with logging.

The trace for the cm6030 does not show this TCP connect.

 

The network

 

The printer is in its own subnet and cannot be reached directly.

Any attempt to connect to the printer is silently dropped by the firewall, this explains the timeout.

 

The Question:

 

How can I disable the TCP connection to  e87640.printers.mynet.de:3910 in the printer driver?

Most likely it must be configured on the printer, because the cm6030f does not show the

behaviour with the same UPD driver and Print server as the e87640.

Several things:
Solution Center refuses to install.

Installer cannot find the network printer (or even when connected directly)

HP Doc always has a problem finding Solution Center

Can print outwards through other programs but no way to find printer to get Solution Center to install.

I am using Win 7 SP1 64. Everything was working before at one time, but when I restarted after a virus scan (finding myself clean), the Solution Center disappeared and the install never finds the printer. VERY FRUSTRATING as I need to scan documents daily.

Can this printer operate on 5G speed?

I have option on cable of 2.5 or 5.0 but printer does not seem to like the faster.

I would like to use 5G for streaming movies , etc. 

Can I set it up for both?

I was connecting my printer to my wireless network during my first time set up and after I typed in my wi-fi password the lights around the screen started blinking and it says Error Code 0XB82BFA6C on the screen. I can't find anything to help me with this error code, please help.

Pdf files will not print

Just installed HP Print & Scan Doctor utility to try to fix another issue (Hotmail won't print to my printer even though dialog box opens and appears to spool - print queue empty though) and now I can no longer print a .pdf file without getting error "your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem 0x80070005 ".  Print & Scan Doctor said that it updated multiple drivers - before that, my only issue was couldn't print from Hotmail - all other applications printed fine (can still print from Word and test page prints fine.
